All Uni’d This Summer
By .

“Summer Uni” has completed its third successful year, culminating with an awesome closing ceremony on the 24th of August. But just what is “Summer Uni”? For those not in the loop, is it a series of free courses run by Kingston Council aimed at young people during the summer holidays. With courses ranging from film production and journalism to dance and Fashion, there is something for everyone.

Unfortunately, Summer Uni has come to a close this year, but what a close it was! For those who went to the closing ceremony at the Searchlight Centre at 4pm, a most excellent selection of entertainment and food was on show. With acts ranging from sword fighting to magic, as well as a sumptuous BBQ at the end, no one was left feeling disappointed.

One project was about film making, the group of young people chose to do a mix of filming methods and the theme of the film was about growing up as a teenagers in the past compared with the now. The fruits of their labour can be seen in the film below.

If you feel like you missed out this summer, don’t worry. The Summer Uni program will be back in Kingston next year with a bang, and will provide countless hours of informative fun to young people from all across the area.

If you took part in Summer Uni let us know what you thought of it.
